J. Marilyn Van Wingerden, PhD, LCSW is a psychotherapist, speaker, author, and Founder CEO of Family Life Today, Inc., a non-profit counseling and education ministry since 1974 in Florida and Michigan. She makes guest appearances on radio and television, and has hosted a Family Life Today television program. Dr. Van Wingerden has worked in psychiatric hospitals as well as her own practice, and has worked over 25 years with incest issues. Eight children and 22 grandchildren are testimony to God's enabling and healing.

Dr. Van Wingerden is the co-author of My Parents Cried Too and author of A Mother's Love Defiled by Incest along with several tapes listed at Tapes available.
